What are the reasons for lighting the ABS sign in the car?

During a normal day and without any warning, suddenly and unexpectedly at all, the driver may see the lighting of the ABS sign in the car while driving, to ask about the reasons behind this technical problem that may cause concern for some and need maintenance.

What is the ABS system?

In an emergency while driving, the driver usually applies the brake pedal violently and suddenly. This automatically causes the tires to slip forward without any real ability to control the vehicle’s direction.

Proper braking must be by smoothing out the wheels so that the contact between the tire and the ground remains intact. This allows the driver at the same time to steer the car normally until it stops, even during hard braking.

Hence the importance of the ABS operating technology as a safety system that works when severe braking to prevent the wheels from stopping during braking and automatically sliding forward.

To activate the system, the driver simply depresses the brake pedal firmly, and the technology system automatically adjusts the braking process. However, in some cases, a system malfunction occurs and the ABS sign is illuminated in the head-up display of the car cabin.

Reasons why the ABS sign is lit in the car
If the ABS bulb lights up, take quick steps to detect the cause of the problem before it gets worse:

-Let’s first start by identifying the fuse of the ABS brake system. If it is damaged, you must change it, and if it is intact, we will move to another cause of the problem.

The next step includes checking the level of brake oil, whether it is deficient or excessive, so that the oil level in the brake case must be between the Min and Max marks. It may turn out here that the root of the problem is a leak in the oil cycle so that it can be quickly addressed.

– If the brake fluid level is good, then it must be checked that there may be a slight electrical fault in the car computer. To check, shut off the engine and disconnect the battery cable from the vehicle system. Then, wait 30 minutes, plug it back in and spin the motor. The ABS mark light should then disappear from the display.

– In the event that all the above-mentioned steps fail, it is best to immediately go to a specialized mechanic who is able to check the car to ensure the integrity of the connections and wires of the ABS sensors. He may clean these sensors or change them to solve the problem.

However, the most important thing is that when the ABS sign lights up in the car, do not worry, dear driver, while driving, and never get nervous. The matter is not very serious. All you have to do is drive carefully until a competent mechanic is able to fix the problem, without negatively affecting the quality of safe driving.
